Our Services
Counseling
Our team consists of highly skilled professionals, providing services on-site at our agency, in their homes, or in the community. We understand that individuals are multi-dimensional. Therefore, our approach to implementing services is holistic. We meet clients where they are in life, inspiring hope for a brighter and productive future.
Haven Focused, LLC provides support to families and children involved with the Department of Child Services and/or Probation. These services include the provision of structured, goal-oriented therapy for families affected by physical abuse, sexual abuse, emotional abuse, or neglect. In addition, our therapists address issues such as substance use abuse, mental health issues, dysfunctional family of origin dynamics, and youth behavioral issues that resulted in the involvement of the Department of Child Services and/or Probation. Therapists provide individual, group, and/or family counseling with emphasis on one or more of the following, initial assessment, conflict resolution, behavior modification, grief loss/separation, trauma, sexual issues including those related to development and behaviors, identify systems of support, interpersonal relationships, communication skills, substance abuse awareness/family dynamics, parenting skills and anger management.
Domestic Violence - Victim and Child
Haven Focused, LLC provides this service, which is comprehensive with service delivery including the survivor and child. Our staff is responsible for the reporting and coordination of services to all populations. Domestic Violence intervention services provided by DCS/Probation are not intended to exist in isolation, but as only one component of a coordinated community response to domestic violence. Services are maintained through cooperative working relationships with local programs (domestic violence, batterers’ programs, survivor programs, shelters, law enforcement, advocates, legal services, etc.). Services provided include the following: Educational and skills-based support group for survivor and/or child, assistance with transportation, coordination of services, advocacy (which includes goal setting, case management, supportive services), safety planning, crisis intervention, community referrals and follow up, family/child assessment, child development education, domestic violence education, parenting education with or without children present, budgeting and money management, participation in Child and Family Team meetings, family reunification, individual and family services, cognitive behavioral strategies, family of origin/Intergenerational issues, family structure and organization (internal boundaries, relationships, roles, socio-cultural history), substance abuse screening, potential screening for traumatic brain injury of the victim using a tool such as the OSU TBI Interview form and referral for medical treatment, housing stability, self-sufficiency.
Domestic Violence - Batterer
Haven Focused, LLC has a team of well-trained and certified staff that provides Batterers Intervention Program (BIP). Staff who are certified by the Indiana Coalition Against Domestic Violence (ICADV). Haven Focused staff provide this service to clients who have a pattern of assaultive or coercive behavior, including physical, sexual, or psychological attacks, as well as economic coercion, that adults or adolescents use against an intimate partner. Intimate partners include spouse, former spouse, those living or having lived as if a spouse, those having a child in common, those having a past or current sexual relationship, or a past or current dating relationship.
Family Preservation
Haven Focused, LLC has staff who are well proficient in providing Family Preservation Services who work with families that have substantiated incidents of abuse and/or neglect, where the Indiana Department of Child Services (DCS) believes the child(ren) can remain in the home with their caregiver(s) with the introduction of appropriate services to the family.
Functional Family Therapy
Haven Focused, LLC provide this service which increase efficiency, decrease costs, and enhance the ability to provide service to more youth by targeting risk and protective factors that can change and then programmatically changing them, engaging and motivating families and youth so they participate more in the change process, Our therapists provides a clear plan and by using proven techniques for implementation; and constantly monitoring process and outcome. Sessions are spread over a three (3) month period or longer if needed by the family.
Home-Based Casework
Staff provide in-home services that are high quality, family-centered, and culturally competent. Our staff is effective in reducing maltreatment, improving caretaking and coping skills, enhancing family resilience, supporting healthy and nurturing relationships, and children’s physical, mental, emotional, and educational well-being. The service provided aid in maintaining safety for children in their home (or foster home), preventing children’s initial placement or re-entry into foster care, preserving, supporting, and stabilizing families, and promoting the well-being of children, youth, and families. Home-based casework services provide any combination of the following kinds of services to the families as approved by DCS/Probation. Services include coordination of services, conflict management, emergency/crisis services, child development education, domestic violence education, and parent Education.
Homemaker/Parent Aid
Homemaker/parent aid provides assistance and support for parents who are unable to appropriately fulfill parenting and/or homemaking functions. Our paraprofessional staff assists the family through advocating, teaching, coaching, demonstrating, monitoring, and/or role modeling new, appropriate skills for coping with the following areas to build self-sufficiency.
Parent Education
Our highly trained staff provides Parenting Education that are structured, provoking a parenting skill development experience. The education focuses on appropriate discipline and child development, which is meant to provide parents whose children are “at risk” or have been abused or neglected with tools to assist them in the lifelong task of disciplining, understanding, and loving their children. Our Family-centered parent training programs include family skills training and family activities to help children and parents take advantage of concrete social supports. We offer a combination of individual and group parent training is the most effective approach when building skills that emphasize social connections and parents’ ability to access social support.
Transition from Restrictive Placement
Our highly trained staff provides TRP services to assist children in a more restrictive placement to a less/least restrictive placement. Staff assist clients to prevent youth from returning to a more restrictive setting/placement. This service focuses on supporting both the youth and family. Therapeutic/clinical interventions to address the service needs of the youth and family. Therapeutic interventions is evidence based. Home-based services including but not limited to the following: Home assessment, child development education, educational transition services, vocational services, drug/alcohol screening and monitoring, conflict management, addiction education, group therapy, coordination of services a) Special emphasis on education and employment services, emergency/crisis services, parenting education/training, family communication, assistance with transportation, family reunification, family assessment, community referrals and follow up, behavior modification, budgeting/money management and other services deemed appropriate based on youth and family needs
Truancy Termination
Our staff provide Truancy Termination service to reduce recidivism of delinquent youth and truants, school drop-out prevention education, job readiness skills services, Parent Education, Family Support Services to youth and families
Tutoring/Literacy
Our trained staff provide tutoring to raise the academic performance of school aged youth to a level consistent with the Indiana Department of Education (IDOE) Academic standards. These are benchmark measures that define what students should know and be able to do at specified grade levels beginning in kindergarten and progressing through grade twelve. We are in compliance with IDOE standards. Our services are provided in a manner that is age and developmentally appropriate, and consistent with the child’s academic and learning style, interpersonal characteristics, and special needs. We coordinate ed as appropriate formal and informal community support, services, and activities that promote their literacy skills.
Support Group for Resource Families
Haven Focused, LLC provide support to all foster and kinship parents licensed by the referring county DCS office. This support service is court ordered.
Services focus on assisting resource families in strengthening their relationships with foster children placed in their home. This service promotes positive relationships between foster families and Family Case Managers and Foster Care Specialists, enhancing placement stability, promotes foster families’ willingness and ability to foster special needs children and older youth that come into care, collaborate with Foster Care Specialist, invite prospective foster parents to the support group meetings and families gain insight and information regarding the foster care program.
Resource Family Support Services
Haven Focused, LLC Services focus on assisting resource families in strengthening their relationships with foster children placed in their home. This service promotes positive relationships between foster families and Family Case Managers and Foster Care Specialists, enhancing placement stability, promotes foster families’ willingness and ability to foster special needs children and older youth that come into care, collaborate with Foster Care Specialist, invite prospective foster parents to the support group meetings and families gain insight and information regarding the foster care program.
Father Engagement Program
Haven Focused, LLC provides support to fathers, and/or paternal relatives, receive all the case management (including supervised visitation) opportunities as the Home-Based Family Centered Casework service standard along with the addition of an evidence-based psycho-education curriculum (utilizing the Bringing Back the Dads curriculum) focused on engaging fathers within their respective needs/strengths and social location. As with our Case Managers, our Father Engagement Service Providers enjoy additional training in Cultural Competency, Sexual Trauma, and issues related to Systemic Poverty.
Comprehensive Home-Based Services
Our staff provides comprehensive and intensive home-based services for families involved with DCS/Juvenile Probation to address the short- and long-term behavioral health care needs. This service provides support for the entire family. The service includes assessment of child/parent/family, resulting in an appropriate service/treatment plan that is based on the assessed need and congruent with the DCS case plan. Services are evidence-based models or promising practices, family-centered, and culturally competent.
Family-Centered Treatment
We have staff who have doctorates and master 's-level clinicians who provide home & community-based therapy for families and individuals that are multi-systemic and strength-oriented. Utilizing a rich combination of evidence-based and best-practice strategies, each family develops and implements a unique treatment plan that moves toward a more positive and sustainable future. Our therapists receive ongoing supervision and enjoy additional training in Cultural Competency, Complex/Sexual Trauma, and issues related to Systemic Poverty.
Visit Supervision
Haven Focused, LLC has trained staff that provide consistently structured and meaningful visitation experiences for children and families involved with the Indiana Department of Child Services. Visits take place in the home, within the community, or at our new offices in Indianapolis. Transportation is available, and providers possess advanced training in serving traumatized and neglected children.
